anyone know where this mine is located?

  12. Erik de Vries on December 3, 2020 at 9:43 pm

    2:01 That’s a pump not a stamp mill.

  13. Nyarlathotep on December 3, 2020 at 9:48 pm

Careful down there, Frank. Some of those gaps and tunnels predate the mine. Best to let older things rest undisturbed.

  14. Lynne Pierce on December 3, 2020 at 9:50 pm

Man this is one AWESOME mine. Was anxious to see what was up ahead or around the next corner 😮👍❤️

I grew up not far from there and have been to Eureka many times. It’s a wonderful area to explore. I hope to move back soon. Great video.

  20. Tod Loeffelholz on December 3, 2020 at 9:56 pm

That mine is too sketchy for me

  21. Shawn Janas on December 3, 2020 at 9:56 pm

How old was that beer can? I wish you would have done a close up of it.

  22. jeepejeep on December 3, 2020 at 9:58 pm

That big horn was standing there thinking "Ha, those hunters will never be looking for me on the road!"
That area where your companions didn’t trust the ladder was really honeycombed! Openings all over the place. You could explore that for days, it looked like. You were showing those youngsters how it’s done, Frank. Good work!
Having other people with you really gives it some perspective. Nice. Some of those rocks looked like it wouldn’t take much to dislodge them. Sketchy stuff!
It went on forever! I think you’d have to camp out in there for a while in order to see it all. Amazing. One of the best yet. What a massive hoist! Thanks, Frank.

  23. Dale Duffy on December 3, 2020 at 9:59 pm

  27. BATTLESHIP NEW JERSEY SAILOR on December 3, 2020 at 10:01 pm

Hello Frank, that machine you called a stamp mill is actually a piston pump, but I see why you thought it was a stamp mill, it looks like one, only stamp mills are very much larger than that pump

  28. Pavus The Pug on December 3, 2020 at 10:02 pm

Been to Eureka a few times since I live somewhat close. Explored Silver City, it’s pretty fun to look around. I didn’t know the mines were that intense there though, very neat.

10:07 It is a great place for a wedding: It’s exotic, it’s private, and it has minimal to no rats. You and your special someone can say "I love you" in sultry ways in a large, cold, WET echo chamber that was ranked among the lowest for random bones and bodies! Experience the passion at the wedding sparkler mine.

I’ve been enjoying your content, can’t watch before bed though -bad dreams-claustrophobic! I had the fortune of exploring the Argentine Mine above Rico Colo (above ground) the processing area was intriguing with the tumblers and separators they where massive …very educational.! Stay safe

Y’all know of any mines in Michigan? It’d be interesting to find some

  36. Scathelocke on December 3, 2020 at 10:14 pm

Just stumbled on your videos, Frank! Talk about badass! I recently went on a a big adventure in Eureka and Silver City to get some footage for my friends fledgling YouTube channel, but we were leery of going inside the mines without helmets or ascension gear. Thank you for sharing this incredible adventure!

  37. Richard Swenson on December 3, 2020 at 10:15 pm

That oil pan as you called it is actually a differential cover!

  38. GS Larson on December 3, 2020 at 10:17 pm

I spent many years in Eureka back in the late 70’s-80’s exploring the surface workings around the town. Many of the head frames were still standing back then but much has changed after the EPA did the clean up work. It was all that time spent exploring the old mines that gave me the desire to become a geologist. I have some photos from 70’s of Eagle Bluebell mine which is seen near the end of your video with the electric hoist. There are some really cool mines down there. I have not lived in Utah for 33 years now so I sure do miss visiting Eureka, Mammoth, Silver City, and Diamond. Hope you had a good time! Oh a little note, the Eimco Rocker shoveler/mucking machine was developed at the North Lily Mine in 1938 just east of Eureka. That ended up becoming the Industry standard mucker around the world.

I have been driving through Eureka for the last 45 years, looking at the mining industry. Thank you for having the balls to go deep in the mines of Eureka! Been watching for a long time decided to comment. Love your exploration of mines.👍

  41. Barret Peterson on December 3, 2020 at 10:21 pm

My grandfather worked in those mines. It is so awesome seeing what he saw and his work still standing for the most part. Thanks for exploring Utah and these mines.

  43. shaun laverick on December 3, 2020 at 10:22 pm

    Superb mine and explore

  44. George King on December 3, 2020 at 10:22 pm

24:30 I guess you had those Canadian Barking Spiders follow you all the way down from B.C. because they were sure making some racket. Must have been 3 or 4 of them having a conversation! No wonder those guys didn’t keep up with you back into that mine! 🤣🤣🤣 Eureka, Utah is an awesome little town. I live south of there near St. George but I spent time in that area (Nephi) when I was much younger. Lots of history there, and not just the mining type. Hopefully you’ll be able to go back there one day to explore that mine to it’s fullest. Incredible find for sure. Just be careful of the local lawyers (Liars) I hear they can be some real jerks about going into some of these mines.

  45. Merein Pendleton on December 3, 2020 at 10:22 pm

Damn you like life on the edge. I’m a little crazy but not that crazy. Busses fallen right and left. 😖

13:30 I’m no geologist but this looks like some sort of oceanic cavity sealed off from the rest of the world millions of years ago
