You should explore the church that’s almost across the street from the gas station that my grandpa toms church he owns it and he made a little mine with a working car to go on the wooden tracks he made and a lot of cool things

Hello Frank, that machine you called a stamp mill is actually a piston pump, but I see why you thought it was a stamp mill, it looks like one, only stamp mills are very much larger than that pump

My Mother was Born in Silver City, her Mom ran a Hotel there back when it was a running town. I have family buried in the cemetery there and family living in Eureka.

I recently went on a a big adventure in Eureka and Silver City to get some footage for my friends fledgling YouTube channel, but we were leery of going inside the mines without helmets or ascension gear. 24:30 I guess you had those Canadian Barking Spiders follow you all the way down from B.C. because they were sure making some racket. Must have been 3 or 4 of them having a conversation! No wonder those guys didn’t keep up with you back into that mine! 🤣🤣🤣 Eureka, Utah is an awesome little town. I live south of there near St. George but I spent time in that area (Nephi) when I was much younger. Lots of history there, and not just the mining type. Hopefully you’ll be able to go back there one day to explore that mine to it’s fullest. Incredible find for sure. Just be careful of the local lawyers (Liars) I hear they can be some real jerks about going into some of these mines.
I have been driving through Eureka for the last 45 years, looking at the mining industry. Thank you for having the balls to go deep in the mines of Eureka! Been watching for a long time decided to comment. Love your exploration of mines.👍
I spent many years in Eureka back in the late 70’s-80’s exploring the surface workings around the town. Many of the head frames were still standing back then but much has changed after the EPA did the clean up work. It was all that time spent exploring the old mines that gave me the desire to become a geologist. I have some photos from 70’s of Eagle Bluebell mine which is seen near the end of your video with the electric hoist. There are some really cool mines down there. I have not lived in Utah for 33 years now so I sure do miss visiting Eureka, Mammoth, Silver City, and Diamond. Hope you had a good time! Oh a little note, the Eimco Rocker shoveler/mucking machine was developed at the North Lily Mine in 1938 just east of Eureka. That ended up becoming the Industry standard mucker around the world.

My grandfather operated the cage at the Tintic Standard Mine which is in Dividend, another ghost town right by Eureka. The Tintic Standard shaft is still open. A couple of years ago there was a murder in Eureka and the murderers threw the bodies down the Tintic Standard shaft. They finally got one of the murders to confess and the authorities had to descend the shaft to recover the bodies. It must have been quite a job because the shaft went down a long way.

That area where your companions didn’t trust the ladder was really honeycombed! Openings all over the place. You could explore that for days, it looked like. You were showing those youngsters how it’s done, Frank. Good work!

Been to Eureka a few times since I live somewhat close. Explored Silver City, it’s pretty fun to look around. I didn’t know the mines were that intense there though, very neat.

Careful down there, Frank. Some of those gaps and tunnels predate the mine. Best to let older things rest undisturbed.
