Hey Frank ,what do you do for a living ? Are you retired ? If so from what occupation ? You should have been a miner .I’m from windsor ,ont and we have a huge salt mine here ,goes right under the detroit river to the USA .It’s still operational so they don’t let locals down but boy i would love to tour it .It goes for miles ,we’re talking cities underground .

I absolutely love seeing all these old relics but seeing how much junk and debris that is left strewn all over our beautiful wilderness is heartbreaking…

  9. Mountain Mike on April 29, 2020 at 5:13 pm

Frank: this is kind of dangerous, we ought to be careful.

Also Frank: This oxygen meter is annoying and kind of giving me a headache.

  10. grimsmith1 on April 29, 2020 at 5:14 pm

This is like Dartmoor mines, full of water only deeper and freezing cold! Never found any remains of ore chutes etc!

  11. Ian k on April 29, 2020 at 5:16 pm

man, im not trying to be "that guy", but what is that sound at 21:24 ? I’ve listened to it several times and I don’t think its you…

  12. TheSWolfe on April 29, 2020 at 5:17 pm

Pronghorn Schlichting = Cliff King! I know to expect it by now, but it still gives me cybervertigo when u zoom out from atop a little waste-rock pile to reveal "we’ve" actually been perched thousands of feet above sheer rockface & treeline; so high the river below resembles a thin, sparkling ribbon of water no wider than a drainage ditch wending it’s way thru deep evergreen forest.

12:07 see all the tracks on the other side of the mountain that probably had something big there

Excellent video! In the 1960’s we used to look for antique bottles in that area & we came away with many 1,000’s. 5 of us hiked up to the K&S rail grade and we even made it to Payne Bluff which we traversed by walking on 2 rails that were suspended in air over what looked like a 2,000 foot sheer drop off. Just the metal rails, nothing else. I was afraid of heights at that time so this was not a pleasant experience for me. I was only 8 years old.

Beautiful country, nice artifacts too….the drone takes a lot of guess work away…great vid, Frank…!

  22. jeepejeep on April 29, 2020 at 5:34 pm

Yeah, why was that big gate put there for no apparent reason?
The second mine was a flooded mess. To bad you couldn’t get in there further,. Cool, unexpected place! Pretty hidden. Those workings looked pretty old. Really beautiful area. The adits weren’t too good but some cool artifacts and even that old rail line. Cool old cabin. Not bad shape either. Now you’re equipped to set up a laundromat!
I really like the drone footage, it gives great dimension to the area where you were. It shows all the things you missed so you can have further adventures there. Great stuff, thanks!

  23. oxskirra on April 29, 2020 at 5:35 pm

  24. Eric Eric on April 29, 2020 at 5:36 pm

I love exploring mines, I realize what I do is very dangerous but it’s the thrill I get out of it. Im going to get a go pro and start uploading videos one day. Mineral County in Nevada is a great place to go and explore. I highly suggest it.

  26. David Fl on April 29, 2020 at 5:37 pm

Why don"t you use a pick and shovel to open up some of those adits .You could get into more of them .I’m like you ,i’m an explorer and i don’t give up too easy .

  27. Barbara Robinson on April 29, 2020 at 5:37 pm

Bonus! Additional show. They need to put those bars closer together to keep you out!! Wow Frank were your roots getting dry out in the desert, or were you just cleaning the dust out of your boots. It was very sketchy getting in that adit. I know the mine wasn’t as big as some but it was a cool find and really interesting to just have a nosy inside. It was lovely to see all that lush greenery and mountain backdrop too. The artefacts you found in the miners’ cabin were cool. I thought the glass washboard was mint and the other item reminds me of something we call a dolly which was used to pummel and agitate the clothes in the tub. Thank you Frank and Happy New Year to you. Take care and be safe. ❤️👍 👍

  28. Jay M on April 29, 2020 at 5:37 pm

Did you keep the washboard and basin?

No Tresspassing and Do not enter signs…..ahh, my favourite ways to say welcome, come on in! Shame about the shallow geology there meaning the mines were collapsed.

Isn’t that beeping just so annoying? My Carbon Monoxide sensor in the house does that and it just gives me a headache and makes me dizzy and I have to take the batteries out.

  34. Kimbra Angel on April 29, 2020 at 5:48 pm

Beautiful area, just a bummer them adits were collapsed. Hope u find a way in next time, so u can go deep inside.

  42. ttxela on April 29, 2020 at 5:57 pm

Some pretty loose ground there Frank, from the size of those tips theres some extensive workings under there somewhere!

  43. Jeffinetly JefFBi on April 29, 2020 at 5:57 pm

You need an ITX meter… Somebody get this guy an ITX.. I’ve seen your video on low oxygen where your lighter barely lights… I’ve been mining in Nevada underground ‘commercially’ ran into low oxygen (10.9) atmospheric being around 19.0 I’ll didn’t know oxygen was low but my Bic lighter did lol

  44. john brownlee on April 29, 2020 at 5:59 pm

Congrats Frank!!!! About time you hit the 100,000 subscribers mark. You deserve it buddy. You go where all others fear to go, and you’ve definitely got some mountain goat blood in you! Frank "That doesn’t look too steep to me." Kevin "You sure Frank? Anything less than vertical is okay with you, but I ain’t going down/up there!"🤣 New T shirts should have some Frankisms printed on them. "It’s Mostly Mental" "It doesn’t look too steep to me" "I see a hole, and I’ve got to crawl inside. I can’t help it." "At least were into rock now. Well sort of like rock. Rock-ish." Awesome job as always Frank.
