I just checked a on state land rockhounding is not allowed. I have won’ted to go there .but don’t want to get in trouble. The hole place looks like it is state land this place is in rock books to but it Seems to be illegal. I wish I was wrong. The state office said the fine is very large .state land is not public land. I think they are very wrong but I will respect the law.

  3. Awesome Gamer27 on December 28, 2022 at 2:50 pm

Ironically, the wild life is closer to civilization where the food and water is. Cymbiotic.

  10. Tee Cee on December 28, 2022 at 2:55 pm

    Do you do anahl?

  11. Chris Yanover on December 28, 2022 at 2:57 pm

I’m curious if this was just what was on the surface on a relatively flat plane, if you dug a few feet in the ground, what would you find?

Also if quartz is connected with gold, if you brought a medal detector would you find some gold pieces?

**(after watching your full video you kind of answered may question about the gold)

From what you said it sounds like there are gold in that area. Would it be gold pieces or ore?

  19. Rachel Rose on December 28, 2022 at 3:06 pm

The rocks you’re finding that look like they have faces on them are Native American Effigy stones 👍

  20. TheTradesmansWife on December 28, 2022 at 3:06 pm

Love that you include the kiddos, so important to get them outside and exploring!

  25. Rinus Pauel on December 28, 2022 at 3:10 pm

i live in phoenix and while hiking have seen so many exposed quarts veins and clusters in the area. Never really encountered too many terminated crystals, then again i might not know how to properly look for them. Check out quartz ridge trail in phoenix, its absolutely insane the size and amount of quartz you can find there.
What do u recommend i should start reading or learning from if i want to get into rock hounding?

  26. David Sawyers on December 28, 2022 at 3:10 pm

    Elley you rock!

  27. Hunting for Rocks with Da Fi on December 28, 2022 at 3:12 pm

Awesome video. I’ll have to go there some day and look for Quartz Crystals. AZ is not to far of a drive.

  28. Marcus Marcus on December 28, 2022 at 3:14 pm

Any chance you are heading this way again soon? Do you have gps location digits ?

  29. Jacob Fox on December 28, 2022 at 3:14 pm

Elley here in the mountains of eastern Kentucky under a waterfall my sister has been collecting a stone that’s very odd. If you hold it in your hand it’s like a dark color but at night with a blacklight it glows and it’s a beautiful color. And the odd part is this the only place these rocks are at is under the waterfall no where else in that creek has that rock it’s only under the waterfall. What kind of rock is it and why is it only found under the waterfall??????

  30. Bruce Anderson on December 28, 2022 at 3:15 pm

Is that out by Date Creek road…was there, beautiful country, lots of quartz, left quite a bit there my partner said it would grow, don’t kno how that worked out…lol

  31. Our Rocky Dream on the Elephant farm. on December 28, 2022 at 3:15 pm

Bringing the kids? Any concerns with Rattle Snakes etc… ?

  35. chris peterson on December 28, 2022 at 3:19 pm

You should be more specific bc people can get hurt by snakes scorpions! Maybe give street or land marks like mountains names?

  36. Heidi Lobel on December 28, 2022 at 3:22 pm

Great video! A woman after my own heart . I’ve been rockhounding with my Mom for many years, and dragged my son into it (only somewhat reluctantly). It’s hard to find someone who finds rocks adorable! lol Thank you!

  37. Jeska Haley on December 28, 2022 at 3:24 pm

Careful for snakes, lol. I always get so nervous when you bend down to quickly grab something. I almost got struck yesterday. I’m on the NM side of the AZ/NM border, up on a mesa in a landlocked area of the Gila and Apache. I’m trying to learn geology and have found some really cool spots to fill my pockets with good rocks to polish. Nothing like you found here yet, but I have some good ideas where to hike to and where no one goes 🙂

  40. Paul Pecoraro on December 28, 2022 at 3:26 pm

Awesome! Beautiful and a geologist. Keep it up.

  41. Brian Urban on December 28, 2022 at 3:29 pm

I would sure like to know where this location is.

  42. Lilith Slytherin on December 28, 2022 at 3:29 pm

Omg yes! I’ve even found smoky amethyst 🥰 Wickenburg is top notch for rockhounding

  43. Ike Stoddard on December 28, 2022 at 3:30 pm

Did you find some tourmaline in matrix as well? I see striated black that seems to be it.

  44. Kim Toy on December 28, 2022 at 3:31 pm

I’m in the SE, and I just got so excited watching this that I have to comment mid-video: None of my friends understood the bacon rock! I found a whole slew while hunting a river’s gravel bar for agatized coral! yaaaaas that just made my week 🤸🕳️! love the videos! thanks for sharing

  45. Joel Kevin Stewart on December 28, 2022 at 3:32 pm

That ares’s well known for gold. Those big quartz fields, especially the rose quartz areas, could have gold ‘in’ the quartz! Take a Falcon MD20 Gold detector, $265.00. or a Minelab Equinox 800!

  46. Jared Meeks on December 28, 2022 at 3:34 pm

It’s awesome to see others passionate about geology and rockhounding!!! THANK YOU

  47. Land of Saguaros on December 28, 2022 at 3:36 pm

Haha! 🙂 I can hear the guy in the background saying put it back, as I’m sure he knows you you will take home every cute rock that you find. I’ll bet you have a house full of rocks. Maybe a couple too many according to the person in the background? I’m the same way though, I get impulsive about cool looking rocks. Now I’m not a rock scientist but every time myself and kids go camping we bring back one cool rock to add to our collection in the front yard. I love you channel. Thank you

  48. chris peterson on December 28, 2022 at 3:37 pm

    Which area ?

  49. Richard Lopez on December 28, 2022 at 3:39 pm
