Elley here in the mountains of eastern Kentucky under a waterfall my sister has been collecting a stone that’s very odd. If you hold it in your hand it’s like a dark color but at night with a blacklight it glows and it’s a beautiful color. And the odd part is this the only place these rocks are at is under the waterfall no where else in that creek has that rock it’s only under the waterfall. What kind of rock is it and why is it only found under the waterfall??????

  8. Our Rocky Dream on the Elephant farm. on August 8, 2023 at 3:21 am

There’s a great spot just a little south of there that I’ve found fluorite.

  9. Miguel Alvarez on August 8, 2023 at 3:22 am

    Don’t think that was hematite

  10. illmsg77 on August 8, 2023 at 3:23 am

You think that place is already blown out by now?

  11. Ike Stoddard on August 8, 2023 at 3:24 am

Did you find some tourmaline in matrix as well? I see striated black that seems to be it.

  12. Richard Lopez on August 8, 2023 at 3:24 am

Awesome! Beautiful and a geologist. Keep it up.

  17. Cracker Jax on August 8, 2023 at 3:30 am

Careful for snakes, lol. I always get so nervous when you bend down to quickly grab something. I almost got struck yesterday. I’m on the NM side of the AZ/NM border, up on a mesa in a landlocked area of the Gila and Apache. I’m trying to learn geology and have found some really cool spots to fill my pockets with good rocks to polish. Nothing like you found here yet, but I have some good ideas where to hike to and where no one goes 🙂

  18. Kaleidoscope23 on August 8, 2023 at 3:31 am

😮😮😮 we have a trip to Phoenix coming up in about 2 weeks and I’ve taken my kids rock hounding but never had ANY luck here in Tx aside from some agate…. Can you please please give me more information on how to get to this location or any location where my kids can get the experience of finding their own crystals 😊 I’m sooo excited for this trip

I want to take my kiddos I’m sure they’ll have fun!!! Which mountain in wicker burg

  21. Chris Yanover on August 8, 2023 at 3:33 am

I’m curious if this was just what was on the surface on a relatively flat plane, if you dug a few feet in the ground, what would you find?

Also if quartz is connected with gold, if you brought a medal detector would you find some gold pieces?

**(after watching your full video you kind of answered may question about the gold)

From what you said it sounds like there are gold in that area. Would it be gold pieces or ore?

  22. The Random Guys {LarY} on August 8, 2023 at 3:33 am

omg…when i was a kid i always find thid on the river bank…i love to collect weird n beautiful stone or rock…n put it on the aquarium 😁

  23. Rick Beal on August 8, 2023 at 3:35 am

I just checked a on state land rockhounding is not allowed. I have won’ted to go there .but don’t want to get in trouble. The hole place looks like it is state land this place is in rock books to but it Seems to be illegal. I wish I was wrong. The state office said the fine is very large .state land is not public land. I think they are very wrong but I will respect the law.

  24. chatter on August 8, 2023 at 3:36 am

That ares’s well known for gold. Those big quartz fields, especially the rose quartz areas, could have gold ‘in’ the quartz! Take a Falcon MD20 Gold detector, $265.00. or a Minelab Equinox 800!

  25. Modern Muse Salon, LLC on August 8, 2023 at 3:39 am

    omg where is this!!!!!!

  26. Katie Dangelo on August 8, 2023 at 3:41 am

I live 2 miles dead east of vulture city, which is about 15 miles south of wickenburg…

I have found what I think is a lot of quarts but none that are ones crystal shaped…. just huge chunks… why?

  27. Bruce Hohenstein on August 8, 2023 at 3:43 am

A great site for quartz! Thanks for sharing…

  28. Resident Potato on August 8, 2023 at 3:43 am

How dare you assume the rock’s gender.

  29. Lilith Slytherin on August 8, 2023 at 3:46 am

Omg yes! I’ve even found smoky amethyst 🥰 Wickenburg is top notch for rockhounding

  30. 12 degree Snowman on August 8, 2023 at 3:46 am

So how do you consume them

  31. Cherrycola on August 8, 2023 at 3:46 am

    You talk really well

  32. John Wolf Prospecting on August 8, 2023 at 3:48 am

    nice finds

  33. Kim Toy on August 8, 2023 at 3:48 am

I’m in the SE, and I just got so excited watching this that I have to comment mid-video: None of my friends understood the bacon rock! I found a whole slew while hunting a river’s gravel bar for agatized coral! yaaaaas that just made my week 🤸🕳️! love the videos! thanks for sharing

  34. Land of Saguaros on August 8, 2023 at 3:49 am

Haha! 🙂 I can hear the guy in the background saying put it back, as I’m sure he knows you you will take home every cute rock that you find. I’ll bet you have a house full of rocks. Maybe a couple too many according to the person in the background? I’m the same way though, I get impulsive about cool looking rocks. Now I’m not a rock scientist but every time myself and kids go camping we bring back one cool rock to add to our collection in the front yard. I love you channel. Thank you

  35. TheTradesmansWife on August 8, 2023 at 3:50 am

Love that you include the kiddos, so important to get them outside and exploring!

You talk to your rocks like I do 🤣

  36. chris peterson on August 8, 2023 at 3:54 am

You should be more specific bc people can get hurt by snakes scorpions! Maybe give street or land marks like mountains names?

  37. Bruce Anderson on August 8, 2023 at 3:57 am

Is that out by Date Creek road…was there, beautiful country, lots of quartz, left quite a bit there my partner said it would grow, don’t kno how that worked out…lol

  38. Jared Meeks on August 8, 2023 at 3:57 am

Lady of Geology can you tell me what is country rock and how did it get their? Sence, I have been on earth the adirondack has Risien 8 inches been looking into it and I will not be called grandpa of geology because I have been metal detecting 2 years but found rhyolite [? to me if it looks like it it go to be it] and looks like got they’re by a volcano???

  42. innu on August 8, 2023 at 4:02 am

I love your unscripted natural real videos. In same place you may find some other crystals like chalcedony, termalion etc… All the best 👍

  43. Rinus Pauel on August 8, 2023 at 4:03 am

i live in phoenix and while hiking have seen so many exposed quarts veins and clusters in the area. Never really encountered too many terminated crystals, then again i might not know how to properly look for them. Check out quartz ridge trail in phoenix, its absolutely insane the size and amount of quartz you can find there.
What do u recommend i should start reading or learning from if i want to get into rock hounding?

  44. Ray Wister on August 8, 2023 at 4:04 am

Ironically, the wild life is closer to civilization where the food and water is. Cymbiotic.

  45. SassySmchill on August 8, 2023 at 4:07 am

I’m very much enjoying your content. I have always loved rocks. But I have no clue how to identify any of my finds. They are just rocks that I love. We went hunting out by Gilabend and my husband found a little red rock. Probably nothing of value as far as the market. But huge value to me. It’s shaped like a doves heart. I’ve been asking him to get it made into a pendant for me. Recently we were looking for geodes by Wickenberg but south of Wickenberg. I had no clue how to identify them. Thanks for these videos. It’s great to get exercise but buggies/ATV’s makes it so much easier.
