8:44 mate those arent docs those are sandals XD
The domes in Casa Grande have been razed. They’re gone.
Who says "route six six"? Do you not know how to say numbers?
I bet there’s tons of dead bodies hidden all around those places..š³
Great videoš¤ I love our beautiful & mysterious Arizonaā£ļø Arizona deserts are my favorite and can’t wait to get out to metal detect some great areas this spring & summerššµ I love your exploration of the abandoned motels the most in this videoš“
Me and my grandpa used to stop at that gas station on the way to Lakeside and get popcorn its crazy its been closed for that long.
The old bridge is part of the old highway that goes through salt river canyon. If you look down in the canyon while driving you can see the old road in other places as well. So it wasn’t built for you to walk on and view that is just what it is there for these days.
i live in az and i did not about this stuff
The "abandoned gas station with the jail cell" in the "heart of the Salt River" were only abandoned about 15 years ago. The gas station/store was run by the Ft. Apache tribe and is where whitewater rafters would stop to get their permits and last minute supplies. These days the Apaches meet you at the put-in, about a mile downstream from the store. p.s. There is no Route 66…. it became Interstate 40 a long time ago.
Brah, do not EVER use a Texas accent to imitate an Arizona accent unless you want to end up abandoned too. š
The Casa Grande domes have now been demolished by Pinal County. This happened within the last month.
It’s route sixty six!! Go back to Cali š¤¦
You mentioned in the video that you would leave a location for these places in the description. I canāt see where this is at.
Great video.
I remember when the Anasazi Inn was still running. When I lived in Tuba City as a kid in the 90s we drove by it every time we went to Flagstaff.
When I was little My Grandmother Would Tell Me About The Little Jail Cell In Salt River & How It Was Actually Used Back In Her Day. My Cousins Decided To Spend The Night Out There. So They Packed Up For The Night & Its About a 45 Minute Drive Outta The Rez. They Exclaimed How They Heard Cowboys& Off In The Distant They Would Hear The Bells From The Crown Dancers.(Usually a Bad Sign) If You Try And Follow The Sound You Will Get Lost. Rocks Being Thrown From Behind The Gas Station. & Baby Cries Deep In The Night. I Have Yet To Explore My Self But Its One Heck Of a Spot!
Great video but… it’s Route sixty six…not six six
p.s. please pronounce it "Route Sixty-Six." š
We did Santa Clause way back when. Too bad. Quirky places are a lot of fun.
Unfortunately, the Casa Grande domes are now gone.
What are the coordinates for the abandon homes?
helyeah bud thanks!!!!!!šÆ
4;08 Fun Fact on F Troop: I owned a 1917 McClellan cavalry saddle and the saddle bags were actually stamped "F Troop". Probably from Ft. Riley Kansas as they had a big sale there and all kinds of cavalry inventory was sold "as new" as it had never been issues. WW1 was over and there was no demand. George in Canada (North Van.( sold it for me. George owns the sword Custer gave to his in law a week before the Battle of the Little Big Horn. !!
How un-American do you have to be to pronounce it āRoute Six Sixā šš buddy what? Itās Route 66 – sixty six
A stillshot of mapped location at the beginning of each site would be very helpful. I might actually go see something if I could see that it’s near my route… but I’m not going to take notes throughout the video in order to spend the time to look up each on the off chance that it might be near me.
Santa Claus AZ I’d have a vehicle building area š
# 4: That place was still open in 1998, which was operated as a franchise of Chevron Gas Stations. I guess Armco took over the place before shutting down. I stopped there for a Navajo Taco for lunch inside that "Pancake House" building on a road trip in June, 1998, which was a diner at the time.
Fry’s is next, LoL
Itās route sixty six not six six
Arizona just sucks the whole state… Not sorry.
Ahhhhh the domes in casa grande itās a shame they got torn down now very recently it was a cool spot for me as a photographer to take pictures at during the day at least
Really? you didn’t know about F-Troop because you’re a millennial… That’s no excuse it’s a classic. Of course, it might not be woke enough for a because it wasn’t woke at all just very funny. I knew about David Bowie when I was 12.. So it’s not your age well maybe it is.. "millennials" never mind…wait we were wearing doc Martin’s in the late seventies in the late 70’s & early 80’s and still have them today so um early 2000…posers lol jk I don’t really give a shite.. You just talk so fast I thought my head was gonna explode.
We visited this place last November, 2022 on the way up to Pinetop/Showlow. Enjoyed walking around the structures.
It was not a cell for people, it was where they stored the beer
They have already taken the casa Grande dome down just to build stupid house.
I live not too far from an abandoned motel in Mesa, I pass it all the time when im going somewhere, and Iām just dying to check it out sometime! I just have to get someone to take me since I canāt drive.
A while ago my friend wanted to take me to the domes to do a photo shoot. It was really heavy energy there, I didnāt know anything about them at the time since I had just moved to az but it was pretty creepy for sure. The pictures turned out fantastic though!!
As a san carlos Tribe we go to seneca.
Really enjoyed this video, fort courage in Houck Az, I had my first job there at the restaurant, was a dishwasher/busboy and it was a stop for Greyhound. Food was good, store was cool with all the souvenirs also had a small store and post office, now the fort tower you could go up it and take some cool photos, last I heard was a buyer from India was interested and was going to rebuild bit as of today nothing yet.
Now the grey hills hotel or the Anasazi Inn, I also stayed there a few times and the old gas station next to it was rented as a car sales lot which I worked at, sold cars and had a room and sis security, it was open the last time I passed thru and said to see it in its shape now, bit both locations are worth the visit.
I grew up in a house on Route 66, and in the evenings my sibs and I would sit on big chunks of petrified wood in our front yard and watch vehicles go by from every state in the country. Thanks for a great video about my home state!
Iāve been to those Domes before, itās pretty neat
That is so sad. As a kid my parents had us stop at Fort Courage because we loved to watch F Troop. We ate at that Pancake House. Too bad.
I have been to those Gray Mountain Motels pretty sketchy looking spot. Great art though!
Born and raised in Arizona šÆ
Remember going with my parents and sis to visit family in Oklahoma we would drive through Arizona. Once we stopped to get a hotel in some city and after dad came out of the office an indigenous man came up to him speaking in his native language. My father didn’t understand a word since dad was Chickasaw. Dad listened to the man and the man finally walked away mumbling something. Think the man was upset that my father didn’t talk to him.
I am not from AZ but have lived a while in Central phoenix.had the pleasure of living in Arizona city, Payson, Heber, camped up near Christopher creek . Also went north and had some great pie and Rocky mountain oysters at rock springs. And used to go dancing at Mr luckys. Also went tubing on the salt River! Great fun. Thanks for the video!
i have a crazy idea, so crazy it might just work. there are a shyteload of abandoned places in the USA and there are a shyteload of homeless people in the USA. see where i’m going with this? why not just let the homeless go live there and they can build themselves a community that fits their life style? i mean, if you’re gonna give illegal immigrants the Watson Hotel, why not give the homeless these abandoned places? no? and i thought you people care.
Dont forget the abandoned town of Sanger de Cristo Arizona
