I spend the cold months in the Senora Desert where the weather is nice until spring…then it’s too hot to be outside. I like to explore on the motorcycle. The desert is more beautiful than you might think…and there’s gold! Drywashing the compact cemented gravels of the alluvial flows produces placer gold of various sizes and amounts. Bedrock is always best!
The Spanish mined gold all over this area. The evidence of their lust for the yellow metal can still be seen high in the mountains and deep into the desert.
