Todays adventure takes us in my 2003 Jeep Tj in search of the lost lemon mine in Southern Alberta. The lost lemon mine is a legendary gold mine in Southern Alberta that has had Prospectors looking for the past 100 years to claim their fortune. According to the legend the mine was first discovered around 1870 by two prospectors Frank Lemon and Blackjack. They discovered a rich gold deposit and greed or whatever else lead to lemon killing his partner and going mad never to find the mine again.
Today we look for signs of gold to help lead us nearer to the fortune. We did discover gold in the Old Man river and but none further up steam. so this is a sign that a tributary must be depositing the gold. The last spot we check out ground was too frozen to see if there was anything worth while.

Nice spot Gerry @ 1:12 look at the upheavel of the rock that`s a split in the tectonic plate where you find the most those are a mineral release area from way down right , Most times at the base where it levels out the wash off the upheaval stops from the storms the shore rock is`nt round still has a jagged edge but you found gold I`d go to the base of the ridge and try load a rock bed take it to the river to wash ,,Good find .Ps WATCH FOR SIDE HILL GOUGERS ..

Wow Jerry .. It’s so beautiful down there.. But I gonna ask why did you guys move from that first spot? It was like 30 or more Colors/pan!.. That’s pretty good no ? and well worth more prospecting around in that area a lot more is say, plus it kinda looks like a lot of glacial till there too.. As far as that bedrock you tried goes..you gonna look in the hard packed gravels and sands in them cracks.. And no point digging under the water… That just shakes the gold further down if there is any.. all and all though, it looked liked fun times to me …. I can’t wait to get out. FYI .. I have a bunch of places to explore out up north too .. But No lemon mine up here.. so maybe I’ll discover my own thought lol . Anyway thanks for sharing..be safe and sluice on my friends : )
