Your theory correlates makes sense. 9bviously the ultra wealthy have disconnected themselves from society, believing they are better than. Gaudy pieces that they think make them interesting, when they’re really just flaunting wealth. Which in itself is unethical…. to have a house so large that it requires staff to maintain, when within 50 minutes of said house are people suffering in the streets unable to afford ever increasing rents and decreasing wages, unemployment, illness, and no support from a government chronically refusing to infervene

actually the modernist houses look worse than the over the top houses, purley for the fact that at least when someone buys modernist art pieces instead of furniture because they value money over actually liking an item, it has the decency to look unique. its a horrific display of wealth but at least theres something to look at.
those modernist soulless rich people houses manage to be worse, because they don’t even look like someone lives there. id appreciate at least a hint of personality, even if that personality isn’t really a personality so much as it is a mishmash of the personalities of many many people who sell things for too much money, rather than the personality of the houses owner, who has none, and just bought what was the most expensive.
