LOST Treasures DISCOVERED Along the Missouri River Metal Detecting! Old and Silver Coins Found!

LOST Treasures DISCOVERED Along the Missouri River Metal Detecting! Old and Silver Coins Found!

Went detecting a couple times this Thanksgiving week! On the first hunt I travel to an old town along the Missouri river in search of old coins and relics with my Uncle Bob and Ray. On the second hunt Garrett from Swingin’ the Free State and I search old house yards and curbs in an old Kansas town. Thanks for watching and enjoy! -Zach

I found Indian Wars Era brass lapel device.
Circle shaped with raised capital case "H".
The size of a 2020 US twenty-five cent coin.
Device was issued to all Headquarters staff.
Found at location of a military-built log bridge.
Before the US Civil War. By a fort commander
who would resign his US Army Commission
in the US Pacific NW. Leaving his married
wife, a Native American, and their male child.
To travel by sailing ships to Virginia and obtain
a Officer Commission within the Confederate
States of America. After the war his sword was
given to the child. That sole gift from Father to
son was stolen by an unidentified white visitor
when the young man lay dying of an illness.

You all are killing me with rubbing the coins. Carry a spare bottle, if you find a good coin and rub it, it’s gonna leave hairline scratches and kill the value. Literally wiping half the value off by doing that.

  39. coin on February 5, 2021 at 12:00 pm

I wish I was as lucky as you, the oldest coin I have is a 1919 wheat. HH from So. Ill!

So I want to get out of snowy frozen NE for a week or so where should I take my family to dirt fish on the TX gulf coast. I was thinking Corpus Christi.

  44. john turner on February 5, 2021 at 12:06 pm

Wow. This is so fake. You never show the coins actually being dug out. Looks like everything is planted.

That was a great video Zach! I enjoyed watching it very much. You have developed a talent for finding good spots. So many folks never learn that skill and end up quitting the hobby out of frustration. I’m sure you also get lots of PMs from guys wanting to join you or ask for your help. Keep these great videos coming and happy hunting! Dave.

As a guy who has collected coins for many years it makes me cringe when you rub the dirt off the coins like that. You are putting little micro scratches on the surface and diminishing the value
