Just starting out what advice would you give for beginners of knowing where to go what to look for and how do you decipher between rocks and gemstones/crystals? Where to get educated for beginners I live in NC and we have plenty of mines… thank you for any info
Dont know why you would use those blunt hammers directly on these pieces. It pulverizes them instead of cracking them because the material
(rhiolite?) is so sandy/powdery.

What is that rock surrounding the topaz? It almost looks like someone just made these rocks by hand and then just stuck the topaz in every few inches or feet.🤫 I know that’s not true.. would give a limb…(a small limb …like my baby toe. Does that count as a limb?) To go to some of these places he goes to find sparkly things!!🤗
