In 1935, Earl Dorr signed and filed a legal affidavit swearing that he found a cave of ungodly sums of gold. He blasted the entrance closed and could not find it again.

Update: A couple of people said that Kokoweef is closed to the public. Be sure to always check before venturing out and as stated always get permission.

    The Company owns 22 mining claims all over Kokoweef Peak…the entire mountain is private property and is posted as such…

    I had see a mimi documentary played on PBS in california some years ago about these explorers. They found the small entrance that looked like a coyote hole they went inside and the interior had been exploded in. They couldn’t go to the inside bottom
