i most recently filed to change my party from republican as well. I was a member of the party since i cast my first vote in 1984.. and did so until 2016. But, as of 2019, i was convinced i have no affinity to what the party has become and aspire to.
Its okay for them to stay like they are, its just moved away from what i can claim affinity with.
