I enjoy that people are pointing out that rust would make it heavier but something i wish people pointed out is how you turned your cleaning vinegar (approx 1:1 ratio acetic acid to water) into white vinegar (approx 10% acetic acid)

  3. Max bennedbæk on February 18, 2023 at 2:15 pm

somethings not right if the rust makes up 5 pounds of the gross weight, idk who started that rumor XD

  4. 你的帳戶再次違反《社群守則》 on February 18, 2023 at 2:17 pm

Wait, Ounce is a mass unit and a volume unit at the same time?

The imperial system is dumb 💀

  5. MatTheGreatt on February 18, 2023 at 2:17 pm

Right before you hit a PR:

Yo let’s clean the plates guys

Still don’t understand gymheads shitting themselves over a kilo this or that way.

  8. Dr. Dave's Painting Laboratory on February 18, 2023 at 2:20 pm

It has to. You’re removing rust. Is this a Gen z science question cause it is beyond dumb.

  9. Domination on February 18, 2023 at 2:21 pm

I would have used electrolysis on it then after you were done we’re brushing it I would just left it alone because it makes it a black color you can use even just salt water in a 12-volt battery

  10. Ro M on February 18, 2023 at 2:22 pm

I dont understand english they so affraid of n word but still viniger is a word

  13. Owen Little on February 18, 2023 at 2:23 pm

"if you didn’t paint it, it would be lighter"

Well fucking yeah because he took the paint off and paint has weight. Why would you not paint it?

  14. Aryan K.🃏 on February 18, 2023 at 2:23 pm

    V what?

  15. Light_Jak on February 18, 2023 at 2:24 pm

Boy cried cuz he did a 1:1 (water:vinegar) bath when it should’ve 100% vinegar

  16. SuperNaturel on February 18, 2023 at 2:26 pm

Tip from a chemist: citric acid works much better than vinegar.

  17. Sebgear on February 18, 2023 at 2:28 pm

Hmm… thinking about the process of things rusting. The chemical process involves iron atoms and oxygen molecules reacting to create iron oxide which than sticks to the iron object. Meaning that the weight of the plate actually increases as it begins to rust. Provided that non of the rust flakes off. I’d be interested to see how the weight changes from brand new to rusted over to cleaned. Basically the entire cycle.

  18. PESTO on February 18, 2023 at 2:30 pm

    The what bath?

  19. Cash Kerns on February 18, 2023 at 2:33 pm

Try using monster next time I bet it takes even less of. That stuffs so acidic it would prob melt your intestines if you drank too much

  20. No Mee on February 18, 2023 at 2:33 pm

This is interesting and all but next time how about weighing it before putting it under the gravitational pull of the planet? That’ll probably take a pound or two off.

  21. da ham on February 18, 2023 at 2:37 pm

TRY MONSTER ENERGY 4 THE RUST

  22. OrangeDongle on February 18, 2023 at 2:38 pm

This is just clickbait. You gotta jump up and down, click your heals, do a backflip, win the winter Olympics, and strangle a water buffalo with your bare hands. Then I’ll believe you

  23. Oppressed Gamer on February 18, 2023 at 2:39 pm

That’s 3.1 ounces of pure gains!!! Not cleaning

  24. SSSpeep on February 18, 2023 at 2:42 pm

    I’ma just pull out wd40

  25. Aishawary Mourya on February 18, 2023 at 2:42 pm

Well that’s the actual weight of plate

  26. Hoopjajk on February 18, 2023 at 2:44 pm

Narrator- everyone who says that this is easier than an ankle grind is a pice of sh#%

  27. DragonerPhenix on February 18, 2023 at 2:49 pm

One Thing though: angle grinder wire brush head.

  28. Teal on February 18, 2023 at 2:50 pm

many contemporary chemists believed in the phlogiston theory, if you burn metal the weight increases due to formation of iron oxide (rust) they believed this was instead substance of negative mass being burned off and removed from the metal.

  29. CountryCarrot on February 18, 2023 at 2:51 pm

And rust is actually heavier because it is oxidized which means it has more oxygen which is heavier, so when you’re lifting rusty weight, you actually lifting more weight.

  30. Hooded Mountain Goat on February 18, 2023 at 2:52 pm

Wow 3 ounces. if that’s all, repaint it after cleaning and It probably get thatback again

  31. Pami Namas on February 18, 2023 at 2:54 pm

  33. Ryuu. on February 18, 2023 at 2:54 pm

Dude it would be lighter if you didn’t let it soak all that vinegar solution 😒

  34. Victor Kendarr on February 18, 2023 at 2:54 pm

    You could try electrolite

  35. dr.rockzo on February 18, 2023 at 2:57 pm

Try a citric acid bath, that’s what I use to derust metal at work…it will strip all of it off

  36. doomfanboy on February 18, 2023 at 2:58 pm

now you must do this with the laser gun and report back to us the results.

    PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  37. vansh gaming on February 18, 2023 at 2:59 pm

And the amount it lessens is to f ing low to have a effect

  38. William Ofhler on February 18, 2023 at 2:59 pm

Not going to do much to the weight. But if you inhale enough air you can lose up to 20 lbs

  39. Ryan V on February 18, 2023 at 3:00 pm

Restoring it can include painting it

  40. Vizual Stuntz Official on February 18, 2023 at 3:00 pm

One thing social media taught me is that people always think that they know more than the actually do. Thank you for doing these experiments to show the truth behind processes like these

  41. Dented Trumpet on February 18, 2023 at 3:00 pm

Another thing you might could try is something used in firearm restoration all the time: boiling. Yeah, just boil it in water and the red iron oxide will be converted into black iron oxide, otherwise known as bluing. You will have to make several passes, and you might also have to re-oxidize the surface with easy to make chemicals, but it shouldn’t lose too much weight, and it’ll already have a rust-resisting coating over it when you’re done. Backyard Ballistics is a great source for the process and science behind it.

  42. LordAzrielXIII on February 18, 2023 at 3:02 pm

If you’re nitpicking over a few ounces, you’re doing it wrong and shouldn’t be lifting.

  43. yueshijoorya on February 18, 2023 at 3:03 pm

Bro got angry at helpful advice because he’s too weak to manually scrub 😂

  44. Die Woodys on February 18, 2023 at 3:03 pm

at first glance i thought you put it on a ps4😂

  45. Travis on February 18, 2023 at 3:04 pm

i really dont understand how these plates are getting rusted to begin with.

  46. Sep G on February 18, 2023 at 3:06 pm

If it loses weight then just paint it again to add weight and prevent rust.

  47. Reelz Gaming on February 18, 2023 at 3:07 pm

    Aye I’m the 700th comment

    Ik you don’t care

  48. dustin hawkins on February 18, 2023 at 3:08 pm

Put 2 layers of plastic dip on and see if it adds weight back on

  49. ///////////////// on February 18, 2023 at 3:08 pm

Only sandblasting is easier than the angle grinder

  50. Euphorian Gold on February 18, 2023 at 3:11 pm

    Weight rarely doesnt matter
If you have a hard time lifting it, its good enough
