Discovered Abandoned Mine – Utah

We passed this lone hiker smoking a cigarette. He made some small talk and then gestured over his shoulder..”you gonna go to the mine”? “what mine?” we said.
Told us, “look for the soda can”. We found it a short ways off the trail.
The entrance was filled in to keep folks out, but previous explorers had managed to clear a small passage. Not sure if it was a silver mine, or other metals/minerals, but was very neat to see in person after watching so many youtube videos of other youtubers exploring abandoned mines and caves.
Next time we’re going deeper!

I think you were one taco close to not getting out. That was a tight fit.
Dam I was hoping it was the one I found today I didn’t have the right stuff with me
Entrance collapsed, two rock falls inside and no gas detectors. Your theme song is the same as MASH"s
6:38 human skull on rafter
Amazing, wish I was back out West
I love a good mine exploration, subscribed!
Wish I could go in there but I doubt that I could squeeze my big fat arse in there.
Watch out for bad air and radiation.
STAY OUT STAY ALIVE !!!
Nice mine! Love exploring mines.
went back here today, i walked to end of the wooden part and it goes a bit further but eventually ends because of a collpase and you can see some of the timber that was once holding up rock collapsed kind of sketched me out
U do not see that tommyknocker on your shoulder?
USGS took over the Bureau of Mines and has has maps of all mining activity and what is there.
Does this happen to be in Ashley national forest
As much as I don’t condone underground exploration without a helmet, I have done it myself. That being said wanna trade some location’s?
where is this mine?
What’s the pond or lake called that is visible?
You too are extremely lucky you are very inexperienced and should probably study up before going into any other mines that smell could’ve killed you. It’s the smells that you cannot smell and mines that would definitely kill you. Caves and mines you need to carry an oxygen meter with you at all times
You should give directions/instructions, my friends and I are interested
Really cool video, I love making videos about caving too 🙂
How cold was it there? And you guys are hot af
Be careful in old mines! They can be radioactive and have toxic gas buildups
Next time look for the gold.
yo i found this mine the other day, i was disappointed when i went into the small cave right of this one but when i found this i was pleased lol
Very lucky boys, no stink damp, no black damp and no rock falls. Let’s see; you are in the western edge of the Colorado plateau, you are in granite and you went down then up. You have no doubt officially received your annual dosage of radon so stay topside for awhile. To sum it up, idiots are lucky!
