Being born in & living in Milwaukee this really sucks.. the media is really pushing Giannis out of Milwaukee & I’m actually worried about him leaving next year if we don’t contend.. (we as in my home city I’m a thunder fan)

The stars could align and somehow the Bucks could win it all next year and Giannis still won’t put pen to that super max contract you can bet on that. Bottom line its Wisconsin there is no market for him. The only question left is does he go to a ready to win now team or tries to build something in a high market team (under no circumstances would I advocate the Knicks as a destination team but would change REAL QUICK if they got a superstar especially MVP level talent). Most likely he’s had taste enough of rebuilding and goes to a team ready now.

Giannis, it is actually not a hard decision to make if you know what your main goal is. Is it money or winning? You make your own path to get to where you want to be. It is very difficult and no guarantee to get to the mountaintop so dont make too many hurdles along the way like signing a supermax contract. There are so many factors that need to align in order to win a championship. Timing is one important factor. Lebron, Wade and Bosh took less $ so they can team up together. AD’s supermax contract with NOP did not get him anywhere. It is really not that difficult to figure out the formula. Keywords: Lebron to Miami (with Wade/Bosh) and KD to Warriors (with Steph/Klay). Obviously, the problem for Milwaukee is their inability to get superstars to play for their team. Small market disadvantage.

Master various go to moves, utilize post ups, and perimeter jumpshot. If he signs in bucks, or in any team without someone who can complement his weakness, better to improve and expand his own game coverage. I am his fan, and i know he will and can do it. I hate seeing him being ganged up and passing to his dry hand teammates. If he falls, the team falls.
This is a terrible plan for everyone besides Milwaukee. Giannis will make more money, sure, but his career would never be the same. He can sign a supermax and Milwaukee will never be a championship team (Its nearly impossible because of the cap ramifications unless you already have a championship team, like GS). And if he does decide to leave, the team he’s going to would have to give up a ton of assets while gaining a fat contract. How are they supposed to build a championship team with a supermax if they just traded away good players/draft picks? The best thing for Giannis, if he indeed doesn’t think he’ll be staying in Milwaukke long term, is to either ask for a trade now, when Milwaukee can get something in return but not a haul, or just sign a normal max elsewhere. I’m sure he could even make back some of the lost salary in Miami by playing in a state with no income tax, being on a more popular team, and having a better chance to win.
Next season is a wash. Any team thinking they may have cap space is gonna be disappointed. They are gonna reduce the cap.

The bucks have zero chance as things stand with Brooklyn. THat is a playoff team without KD and Kyrie. Now they are talking about Harden going there. Yeah it’s over for the bucks. The only way for Giannis to compete for a Chip against the Nets is to go to Golden State or LA. Possibly Phoenix with CP3 there now. Still don’t see a real threat to Brooklyn on that last one.
