Nevada, Maricopa (Arizona), Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia use Dominion Voting Systems (Canada) which is a tool used by many US democrat run counties from a design template, scan, map the choice to the software counting, reporting, test, and audit. The state controls the voting process. Each state has a different template. how it maps to the software? Few people know. At a specific location with a special machine with special software can be coded to activate the logics based on event time range and event location. The software source code and hardware design of their systems are kept as trade secrets and therefore difficult to study or investigate.
To be fair the machine must be certified by the federal election committee and must be offline and guarded by watchers. There is a report there were updates machines a day before the election day.
